"Food for Thought"~A night of dinner and poetry at PK's Cafe

WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP-   On April 20, 2010 PK’s Cafe, located at 51 Main Street, Woodbridge, will be hosting their 1st annual “Food for Thought” dinner and open mic poetry reading in celebration of National Poetry Month. Along with offering patrons our vast menu, PK’s has also designed a special Food for Thought menu featuring a 3-course meal for $25. PK’s is BYOB. Poets and readers should sign up at 6:30pm. Readings start at 7pm. Reservations are encouraged. Good food, well done. Poetry, nicely put.

PK’s Cafe wants to do its part to promote the artists in the community, create a gathering space for locals, and promote literacy through the arts. Our host will be Poet Marjorie Barnes, Associate Professor of English; poet with the Dodge Foundation, and author of the jazz poetry CD My Blues Ain’t Over Yet.  Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month is now held every April to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture.

We’ll have surprise guests! Poets are encouraged to offer their favorite works written by other poets and read their original poems as well. Also, poetry lovers are welcomed to read their favorite authors. You don’t have to be a poet to be poetic!  Let's hear some poems about food and eating! Let’s not forget the most under-rated sense, the sense of taste! PK's has got your taste-buds covered!

Bring you favorite spirits! No cork fee. Come for the food, stay for the poetry! Pat Kotsonis’ new restaurant is an eclectic array of American cuisine providing a tour de force dining experience.  "Something for everyone...Visit the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks and have something different for every meal...such diversity of  ingredients...made-from-scratch specialties...all affordably priced," writes Lois Heyman of the Home News Tribune. For cafe info call 732 750 5553.
